Jan's Praktikum in Toronto, Kanada

Interesting shot - by accident - of my friend April from Canada. I really enjoyed meeting her in real life after knowing each other for several years by email.

During my time in Toronto, I stayed at the Global Village Backpackers (GVB). I don't regret my choice, as it is the best hostel I have been so far. Well, others are cleaner - but the GVB is original! It's a great place for everyone who enjoys party and loud music. They even have their own bar with a good selection of drinks. Not only backpackers, but also neat people from Toronto come here for the party nights. And every night, is a party night!

Toronto's CN Tower, according to it's official website, is at 553 meters the world's tallest building.

No doubt: Toronto is probably one of the most fascinating cities I've ever been to. I could fill pages with reasons, but this town's multicultural mix of friendly people beats them all. It's a great feeling, being surrounded by people from all over the world. And most of them are easy-going, ready for a nice small talk about this and that. Oh yes, I really miss this town!

I visit some Toronto photobloggers regulary. For more impressions of this city, give them a try: Daily dose of imagery is my most favourite blog, followed by Ground Glass and Photojunkie.

The Evil Rabbits

Rabbits have gained my fascination in the last past months, ever since one of my friends bought one. Whenever I look at the seemingly dumb and dull creature I get a strange feeling. A feeling that this cute little animal isn't so friendly and stupid after all. I can watch it eat lettuce for hours, wondering what goes on in it's mind.

When you really start to know a rabbit, you notice at times it can have an evil character. It sits there in it's cage, looking, eating, grunting, kicking you when you try to pet him. It's planning for a way out. I know it wants to attack his owner, kill it. REVENGE! The rabbit thinks. I assume rabbits that live free in nature have similar plans. They dig tunnels to undermine our civilisation. They are a great collective, just waiting for the right moment to attack the human race.

When I first figured this out, the thought scared me. But not anymore haha. When my time comes, I want to be killed by a rabbit. Feel it breathing over me, punch his sharp teeth in my throat. Kill me, kill me, kill me!!! My desire for this moment is so great that I want a killer rabbit for myself!

A Road, Part III

Maynooth, Ontario, Canada
Maynooth, Ontario, Canada

I find adventure everywhere,
and friends with whom I'd like to share.
This is my stop along the way.
Don't really know how long I'll stay.
Stop over. The world is my friend.
Stop over along the road without end.
Traveling around from town to town.
Sometimes I think I'll settle down.
But I know I'd hunger to be free.
Rovin' is the only life for me.
A-driftin'. The world is my friend.
I'm travelin' along the road without end.

By the way, I could go crazy for all this lomo here and there. As a result, here is a lomolized version of the above image. It has been processed with The Gimp and the Photo:Lomo script. Another Lomo: Yesterday's road with the truck

A Road, Part II

Looks like we're comin' into town.
Seems like this train is slowin' down.
Can't help but wonder what's in store.
Could be I've been here once before.
A-driftin'. The world is my friend.
I'm travlin' along the road without end.
Ridin' these rails town to town.
Sometimes I think I'll settle down.
But I know I'd hunger to be free.
Rovin's the only life for me.
A-driftin'. The world is my friend.
I'm travlin' along the road without end.

A Road, Part I

a road in canada

There's a voice that keeps on calling me.
Down the road. That's where I'll always be.
Oh, every stop I make, I make a new friend.
Can't stay for long. Just turn around, and I'm gone again.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down.
Until tomorrow, I'll just keep movin' on.
So, if you want to join me for awhile,
just grab your hat, and we'll travel light. That's hobo style.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down.
Until tomorrow, I'll just keep movin' on.
Until tomorrow, the whole world is my home.
