Als erstes machten wir uns zum Hut of the Caretaker of the Funerary Rock. Diese Hütte ist eines der wenigen Gebäude, das mit einem Strohdach restauriert wurde und befindet sich auf einer Anhöhe unmittelbar hinter dem Eingangsbereich des Komplexes. Hier endet auch der berühmte Inka-Trail. Hauptgrund für den Anstieg zur Hütte ist jedoch der beeindruckende Ausblick auf die gesamte Anlage und das klassische Postkartenmotiv.
